Sleepy wasp
Woken from winter sleep
By a warming sun
Befuddled
And fighting
Far from the hive
Alone and high
Dashed again and again
To a useless window
Wings beating
Waspish body thrashing
Frustrated buzz busying
Sting leaking poisonous zeal
Scooped up and tossed from the open window
Nose to the wind
Arse in the air
Skittishly pitching higher.
